Forged one-piece drill pipe is ideally suited for all Horizontal Directional Drilling applications offering an outstanding combination of strength and flexibility for the toughest of bores. The integral design and advanced manufacturing facility offers exceptional durability and reliability.

The end result is longer service life and better performance than conventional drill pipe resulting in a lower cost per foot drilled for horizontal directional drilling operators.

However, some of the more complicated tool joints with flats (i.e. some Ditchwitch designs) are unsuitable for forged manufacturing. These pipe are welded using the latest inertia welding technology. This process ensures that the welded joints are even stronger than their forged counterparts. Inertia welded drill pipe has been successfully utilised in the toughest drilling conditions in the North Sea and has been used in extended reach drilling in excess of 25,000 ft.
